Suzie Abercrombie, M.A., LPC

A Texas State Licensed Professional Counselor, Suzie received her Master of Arts degree in counseling from Amberton University and her Bachelor of Science in biology, Summa Cum Laude, from Texas Woman's University.  Her state required 3000 hour supervised internship was completed providing services for: an intensive outpatient program focused on suicide prevention, greif and trauma recovery; receiving additonal training and volunteering for the Dallas Suicide and Crisis Center; extensive experience in Emotional Transformation Therapy™ (ETT), a counseling method developed by Steven Vazquez, Ph.D. 

Suzie has continued her education with the goal of increasing her knowledge base and improving her ability to provide the highest quality of care possible.  A portion of her continuing education opportunities include: ETT training (over 100 workshop hours); Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Advance Dialectical Behavior Therapy; Motivational Interviewing; Stepping Stones to Recovery: A Training Curriculum for Case Mangers Assisting Adults Who Are Homeless with Social Security Disability and Supplemental Security Income Applications.

In addition to her private practice, Suzie is currently employed with Dallas Metrocare Services where she provides counseling services to clients who have been diagnosed with co-occuring disorders (severe mental illness and substance abuse) as well as individuals with a primary diagnosis of major depressive disorder, bi polar, and schizoaffective disorder.
